Hidden in Plain View
The local ports and ship traffic provide a significant contribution to the local, state, and national economy. While shipping operations are non-stop, they fade in the background for the majority of the Bay Area population not involved in the trade.
These photos highlight some of the people, ships, tugs, and boats on the San Francisco Bay, including the behemoth container ships which visit regularly, some longer than the Salesforce Tower is tall.
